Dr. Mary Ellen Ferraro is a proud graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas College, where she earned her B.S. in Mathematics with 7-12 certification. She continued her studies and earned her masters in Mathematics Education from Montclair State College(now known as Montclair State University). She then attended Teachers College at Columbia University, where she earned her doctorate in mathematics education.
Dr. Ferraro is an enthusiastic teacher of mathematics. Her area of interest is mathematics education and she has taught students in middle school, high school, as well as both undergraduate and graduate students. Courses that she has taught undergraduates at STAC include: College Algebra, Quantatative Methods in Business and Social Studies, Applied Calculus, Statisitcs, Mathematics for the Elementary School Teachers, Calculus with Analytical Geometry I, Calculus with Analytical Geometry II, Calculus with Analytical Geometry III, History of Mathematics, and Differential Equations .
Dr. Ferraro has been active in the advancement of mathematics nationwide. She served as an AP Grader for Calculus for nine years. In addition she participated in THE AP Audit for Calculus, as well as the TX Test Alignment Project.
