Michael Murphy is an assistant professor of business and Management Science who has been at the college for thirty years. He earned his B.A. in Biology/Anthropology from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. from SUNY Albany, C.A.G.S Information Systems from Pace University and is ABD at Stevens Institute of Technology.
Professor Murphy conducts a variety of classes in the undergraduate business program including: the capstone Business Strategy class which makes extensive use of CAPSIM business simulation and internet technologies, Management Information Systems, Business Statistics, Operations Research, Principles of Marketing, Services Marketing, and Marketing Management. He also teaches in the MBA program which courses in Statistics, Operations Research, and Management Information Systems courses for the MBA program. His research interests include Excel modeling, data analysis and visualization, and business strategy.
