Dr. Suzanne L. Reynolds is an Associate Professor of Education at St. Thomas Aquinas College. She teaches the undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education and is also the NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) Coordinator for the School of Education. She earned her B.A.(with honors) and M.A. in mathematics from Montclair State University and her Ed.D. in Mathematics Education from Rutgers. For over 25 years, she has worked as a teacher and an administrator in grades pre-K through college.


Dr. Reynolds’ area of research is in the development of mathematical understanding. She has presented both nationally and internationally with the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, The Council for Exceptional Children, the New Jersey Education Association, the New York State Association of Mathematics Teachers, the New Jersey Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, and the Research Council on Mathematics Learning.


Dr. Reynolds won a St. Thomas Aquinas Faculty Development Grant in 2010 which supported a study of preservice students’ analysis of a textbook lesson on volume. She also won grants (2009, 2011) from the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators and the Brookhill Foundation to work on the development of state certification for elementary mathematics specialists.
